Animal by K'wan

Okay ladies and gents I know it's been awhile, but I've found some time in my busy schedule to just enjoy a few moments of solitude. During my down time I enjoy reading and being this is a lifestyle blog I thought I'd share one of my favorite pastimes with you. Well this past Christmas was a better one than usual and I was blessed with the Kindle Fire HD (8.9 inch screen & 16gb). For those of you who aren't familiar with the gadget, let me say that it's a great gift to give or receive. You can watch movies, take pictures, play games and READ. It has wifi capabilities and the picture and sound is Dope!!

Anywho, in my free time when I have a moment to just breathe and think I sometimes like to throw in a gritty, suspense riddled novel or action packed book to past the time. My current choice was: Animal by K'wan. He has written other books like Hoodlum, Gutter & Eve just to name a few. I've read a few of his books including this newest one. I wasn't at all disappointed with the outcome of the story or book but I was sure as heck surprised. The story isn't filled with your simple hood clichés but action packed scenes that play out like a movie in your mind while the story comes alive!! Now I won't give away too much but I will say this: this writer is so NEW YORK you'll find yourself lost somewhere in Brooklyn, partying in Harlem or riding across the G. Washington Bridge into Jersey right along with the characters. It was an excellent read & I'd recommend for all my book lovers to give this tale about a rare breed of man a once over. I'm sure you'll fall in love with at least one of the characters. Books and tales like this keep me grounded but never stagnated!!!
